Sporty Nissan Maxima Aims At Luring Younger Buyers

Nashville TN drivers will do a double-take when they first lay eyes on the sporty 2016 Nissan Maxima at Victory Nissan of Dickson. The Maxima, Nissan's longest-running nameplate typically known for its family-friendly large sedans, has been redesigned in mind for younger buyers who crave performance.

Nissan's "4-door sports car" features a redesigned V-6 with 300 horsepower and performance-oriented Xtronic transmission. The new 2016 Maxima could easily be mistaken for a sleek sporty race car, thanks to its larger front grille, flat-bottom steering wheel, and Navy fighter-jet-inspired cockpit.

"This is where we will be different," said Nissan North America product planning chief Pierre Loing. "The large segment has been an aging demographic, and sales are falling for the segment as a whole. We see the look and performance of the Maxima as a way to appeal to younger customers."

More 2016 Nissan Maxima Features:

  • NissanConnect navigation with 8.0-inch display
  • Dual-panel moonroof (optional)
  • Remote engine start via Intelligent Key
  • Predictive forward-collision warning
  • Intelligent cruise control
  • Forward emergency braking
  • Rear cross-traffic alert and blind-spot warning
